Y3 Studio was appointed to develop the technical design and secure Building Control approval for the change of use of an existing ground-floor takeaway to a single-bedroom dwelling, together with alterations to the first-floor accommodation.
The work required careful coordination of means of escape, fire separation, acoustic performance and the constraints of an existing building.
The proposals were refined in consultation with Building Control to establish a practical and compliant route through a constrained conversion.
